While this was not the original intent of WhizQuiz, many instructors use WhizQuiz© to deliver tests that are a major portion of the course grade. As with any web-based quiz there is the drawback of not knowing who is really taking the quiz. Some instructors choose to have their students take the test in a proctored computer lab and check identification at the door. Several other security issues should also considered. The quiz should not be installed until just before the actual time to begin the test to avoid any one trying to view it early. Include a quiz password (QUIZPASS) with the restriction set to TAKING. The Class Roll authentication feature should also be used to be sure the proper students are taking the test. You would not want to include the Help Button on the Quiz page (see HELP tag), and you might consider limiting or modifying any feedback on the Results page. The easiest way is to use the DISPLAYANSWERS tag with it attribute set to OFF (see Figures 10.1 and 10.2 for examples). This prevents the display of the answers choice, the correct answer, Help Buttons, corrective feedback (CORRECT, INCORRECT, and RESPONSE), or general information (INFO). This would limit what someone could learn by viewing another's screen. Setting the DISABLERETAKE tag to ON will remove the "Take the Quiz Again" button from the results page. Another way to discourage cheating is to include several versions of the questions in the quiz file and use the DISPLAY and GROUP tags to present different versions of the test to different test-takers.
